Obituary: Susan Pryor Smith – Door County Pulse – Cyber Tech

June 12, 1951 – Nov. 21, 2023




Susan P. “Susie” Smith (nee Pryor), age 72, of Sister Bay, handed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society – Scandia Village.




Susie was born on June 12, 1951, to the late William and Marilyn (Wyatt) Pryor in Manitowoc. She is a 1969 graduate of Neenah Excessive College – Neenah. After highschool she attended the College of Wisconsin – Madison.




Susie was identified to be adventurous and lived in Alaska, Florida, and Vermont. She got here again to Florida to spend time together with her retired mother and father and educate culinary arts on the Bradford Union Vocational – Technical faculty in Starke, Florida. After instructing, and with the assistance of her greatest buddy, Deb DeRouin, she packed up her belongings and returned to her roots in Wisconsin. Deb continued to be a loyal and true buddy throughout Susie’s sickness later in life. Upon her return, she fell in love with Sister Bay, the place she loved the water and her walks by the woods. Susie adored the Nook of the Previous Museum and finally began working there and have become a beloved Docent.




Susie had a deep love for the inventive arts, dabbling in oils, watercolors, and mosaics. She loved scrabble, particularly when she received towards her sister, additionally entertaining and cooking for her household and Sister Bay associates.




Susie is survived by, her sister Kerry Pryor (Fred) Boness; one niece, Emily (Leo Martinez) Boness and their kids, Michael, Samuel, and Leah; one nephew, Jeff (Stephanie) Boness and their son Alex. She is additional survived by the prolonged Boness household, cousins and associates.




She was preceded in loss of life by her mother and father and her beloved canine Sam, and cat Madame.




A memorial service for Susie shall be held at 11 am on June 23, 2024, on the Nook of the Previous Museum in Sister Bay, 10310 Fieldcrest Rd. Visitation shall be held from 10 am till the time of service.




Susie’s household wish to prolong a particular thanks to the workers at Scandia Village for his or her care and compassion over the past three years because of her stroke.
